13 (thirteen) is a number, system number, it represents a natural number between 12 and 14 and many people believe that 13 is unlucky number and avoid to use it.

Number 13 is feared by people with triskaidekaphobia (Triskaidekaphobia = an irrational fear of number 13. This word comes from the Greek: tris = 3, kai = and, deca = 10. This is often regarded as superstition. Fear of Friday, which falls on the 13th called paraskavedekatriafobia or friggatriskaidekafobia).

The fear of 13 examples:
*| In Formula 1 and some other race, no race car carries number 13.
*| Microsoft has no Ms Office 13, but Ms Office 14.
*| In the United States, there is no named F-13 aircraft, many pilots believe in this superstition.
*| Some airports do not have a gate terminal numbered 13.
*| Many tall buildings do not have a 13th floor.

The poor 13 was sure to be found lacking and unusual. This fear of the unknown would seem to play into two other popular theories for the number’s unlucky connotation, both of which revolve around the appearance of a 13th guest at two ancient events: In the Bible, Judas Iscariot, the 13th guest to arrive at the Last Supper, is the person who betrays Jesus. Meanwhile ancient Norse lore holds that evil and turmoil were first introduced in the world by the appearance of the treacherous and mischievous god Loki at a dinner party in Valhalla. He was the 13th guest, upsetting the balance of the 12 gods already in attendance.

Apparently, 13 hasn’t always been considered unlucky. In fact, it appears that in ancient times, 13 was either considered in a positive light.
It depends on each one to consider number 13 is either lucky or unlucky,.. or just a system number which is not related to any lucky or unlucky thingies.
